FAQ

Q1:Can this be used to control speed on a single phase motor?

  A:No--only 3 phase.

Q2:For on/off purposes, can a 110v or 220v switch be integrated with this vfd?

  A:1. The VFD need 220V Power, typically need L1, L2 in US, so you do need a double poles circuit breaker. the VFD can not work with 110Vac.
     2. Normally , we use power switch/circuit breaker to control the connection of power supply only, but use another signal switch, like button switch, to control the running of motor via the control terminals or use the RUN/STOP buttons on the control Penal of the VFD. the signal voltage is as low as 24Vdc, current lower than 20mA, most of switch can meet the electric rated, you can select a switches of suitable size or shape according to your application. 
    3. In some special case, if you want the motor start running once the power supply connect to VFD, then you can use terminal control mode and short circuit terminal X1 and COM terminal . 
    4. If you add also switch /circuit breaker to output of the VFD , be sure turn on the circuit breaker to connect the motor with the VFD before VFD start running.

Q3:I have a marathon 3/4 hp 3 phase motor. i want to run on my single phase 220v power (from home). it's 60 hz, 208-230v, 2.6 a. will this vfd work?

  A:yes, provided your motor is wired for 208-230.
